Fuelling our Creativity

The forgotten conversation about arts participation's impact on the artist.
Thursday 5 March, 2-5pm
Stage 2, Northern Stage

An invitation from Annie Rigby (Unfolding Theatre) and Kylie Lloyd (Northern Stage)

We make theatre with community groups and young people. Over the years, we have collected mountains of feedback describing the impact of our projects on participants. Yet, we're rarely asked about the impact the work has on us, as artists or producers.

This frustrates us. We know the impact is enormous. Making theatre in participatory settings is what has been made with 'non-professional' performers.

We want to invite you to an event opening up a critical conversation about the impact of participation work on artists.

Matt Peacock (Streetwise Opera) and Tassos Stevens (Coney) will join Annie Rigby (Unfolding Theatre) as speakers at the event. Chaired by Kylie Lloyd (Northern Stage) this is a great opportunity to hear from some of the UK's most creatively ambitious and innovative participatory theatre-makers.

The event is open to artists at any stage of their career, learning and participation staff, arts students, graduates, researchers and academics.
